Comcast Cable to Reposition Comcast SportsNet Plus in Northern and Central California

WHAT:

Comcast Cable will shift the standard-definition Comcast SportsNet Plus events to Comcast Hometown Network, Channel 104.  Comcast SportsNet Plus HD will remain in its current location (Channel 780).

Comcast SportsNet Plus serves as an overflow channel, allowing the network to air simultaneous live events when there are dual events scheduled for a particular time period.  Comcast SportsNet Plus is utilized by both Comcast SportsNet Bay Area and Comcast SportsNet California networks for live events such as San Francisco Giants and Oakland A’s baseball, Golden State Warriors basketball, San Jose Sharks hockey, San Jose SaberCats football and San Jose Earthquakes soccer.

 

Comcast Hometown Network will continue to televise all of its current compelling programming, including: “Inside City Limits,” “Ten Percent,”  “California Life with Heather Dawson,” “New America Now,” “Lady Brain,” and the “Panetta Institute Lecture Series.”  Comcast Hometown Network is simply adding Comcast SportsNet Plus standard-definition events to its lineup.

 

WHEN:

The live events shift will take place starting Wednesday, May 2, 2012.

 

WHERE:

This will take place throughout Comcast’s Northern and Central California cable systems.
