In partnership with Nancy Grace, Headline News (HLN) and Comcast will provide digital fingerprinting for kids this Friday, July 6th at the Alameda County Fair from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. The free service is designed to provide parents and guardians with helpful tools to protect their children in case they ever go missing. This includes digital fingerprints and safety tips through the Digital Fingerprinting for Kids event. Grace is a strong advocate for children and, on her nightly HLN show, stresses the importance of protecting them from the known and unknown dangers that may exist in their communities.
Thousands of children have been fingerprinted since Digital Fingerprinting for Kids’ initiation in 2002, and this year the initiative has been revamped to include a fresh, revamped look with lovable thumb-print characters for the kids, an exclusive Digital Fingerprinting for Kids iPad application and new iPad fingerprint kiosks with commercial grade bio-metric scanners. With the help of this innovative technology, each child will receive an 8.5 x 11 printout with photo, fingerprints, and space to fill in personal information such as height, weight, and hair color at the event. The reverse side of the printout has co-branded safety tips. Information and fingerprints are strictly for the privacy of the families, and no information is kept on file. Also available at the event will be 500 Digital Fingerprinting for Kids premium giveaways available to both parents and children.
